The first things I did for the room was to make the rug and the drapes.

Julie did the basic cleaning before we moved the furniture in.

Julie wanted a quiet corner where she could read or do her needlework, so we had to find a chair and make a table. She tried her nice warm blanket on the chair.

Then we set up the dresser.

Julie asked an expert for his opinion on which fragrance he liked best but Rusty wasn't sure he liked any of them.

Julie finally chose her favorite perfumes and best nail polish.

Then we made a quilt and pillows for the bed.

And a new pad for the rocking chair.

Julie also needed a new housecoat so we made one out of some deep fushia velvet.

Cousin Kate came over and helped Julie make some pictures for the wall.

Julie added one of her favorite pieces of art to the corner of her mirror. Jennifer drew this when she was in kindergarten. (click on picture to zoom in.))

Our wedding picture is on the bedside table as well as the purse that I made for Julie.

Julie's is in her finished quiet corner. She is trying to get her needlepoint done so she can get back to her book.

The finished room.
The bedroom is absolutely beautiful, Doreen!

ReplyDeleteAllthough I dont like the most dolls, I enjoy very much your scenes with the dolls. And I enjoy, that you share the process of growing in your rooms.

The bedroom got cosy real fast!
ReplyDeleteKitty on a freshly made bed is the perfect finishing touch. Is that one of the plants you made a bit ago? The room looks lovely and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes that is one of the plants I made. I did not make the rose display though as that is beyond me right now. I am going to try to put either a cat or dog in every room as we grew up with animals in real life so I want them in the dollhouse too.
ReplyDeleteLove the mini Rusty cat! The drawing in the mirror frame is a great touch for a mini parent's room. Everything looks so nice. You did a wonderful job! :-)
